Después de graduarse de un programa de grado en teatro en la Universidad York en 2001, trabajó en producciones cinematográficas y televisivas canadienses, como la película dramática Perfect Pie (2002), por la que recibió una nominación al premio Genie, la película de comedia, My Name Is Tanino (2002) y la serie de comedia Slings and Arrows (2003-2005), por la que ganó un premio Gemini.

En 2002, hizo su debut cinematográfico en Hollywood en la comedia The Hot Chick. McAdams saltó a la fama en 2004 con la comedia Mean Girls y el drama romántico The Notebook.​ En 2005 protagonizó la comedia romántica Wedding Crashers, el thriller psicológico Red Eye y la comedia dramática The Family Stone. Kathrin Romany Beckinsale (born 26 July 1973) is an English actress. The only child of actors Richard Beckinsale and Judy Loe, she debuted in the series premiere of the 1975 daytime drama Couples.

In 1993, she made her theatrical film debut with a role in Kenneth Branagh's adaptation Much Ado About Nothing whilst studying at the University of Oxford. She played leading roles in numerous British costume dramas such as Prince of Jutland (1994), Cold Comfort Farm (1995), Emma (1996), and The Golden Bowl (2000). Sarah Kate Silverman (born December 1, 1970) is an American stand-up comedian, actress, and writer. She first rose to prominence for her brief stint as a writer and cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live during its 19th season, between 1993 and 1994. She then starred in and produced The Sarah Silverman Program, which ran from 2007 to 2010 on Comedy Central. For her work on the program, Silverman was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

She has also acted in television projects such as Mr. Show and V.I.P. and starred in films, including Who's the Caboose? During the 2016 United States presidential election, she became increasingly politically active; she initially campaigned for Bernie Sanders but later spoke in support of Hillary Clinton at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. She hosted the Hulu late-night talk show I Love You, America with Sarah Silverman from 2017 until late 2018.
